Newark - Charlotte $96 Roundtrip for Summer/Fall Travel

Fly nonstop on American or United from Newark to Charlotte for $96 roundtrip. Travel from late July through December. Flights between NYC and Charlotte are now dipping below $100 roundtrip on a regular basis thanks to new nonstop service from Spirit Airlines beginning this summer. Even though Spirit has slightly lower fares, you don't need to fly Spirit to get a super low fare since the major airlines are price matching in order to compete.

I found this price available on American departing Newark EWR on Thursday, August 29, returning from Charlotte CLT on Thursday, September 25. United has more availability, but beware that its Basic Economy has the same baggage restrictions as Spirit.

Boston - Miami $157 Roundtrip for Fall/Winter Travel

Fly nonstop from Boston to Miami for $157 roundtrip on American. Travel is available on scattered dates from September through the end of the booking schedule in March 2020, excluding peak holiday travel. United has some lower fares available with a connection and no carry-on bag included. You may find American to be the better deal if you need to bring more than a small backpack. San Francisco - Honolulu $438 Roundtrip for Summer Weekend Travel

Although we've seen much lower fares for mid-week shoulder season flights, sometimes the only time you can get away is during the peak summer travel season. Thanks to new seasonal weekend service on Sun Country Airlines, it's now cheaper to fly to Hawaii in the prime summer season and enjoy an island escape for a weekend. Fly nonstop from San Francisco to Honolulu for $438 roundtrip on Sun Country.

New service begins May 19, 2019, and you'll find this price available for travel on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, between July and early September. I found availability departing San Francisco SFO on Thursday, July 25, returning from Honolulu on Sunday, July 28. This price only includes a small personal item, but you'll find the same to be true on United's lowest fare, so you'll still save by flying Sun Country and just adding any carry-on or checked bags you need for $30 each way.

Los Angeles - Jakarta $574 Roundtrip for Late Summer/Fall/Winter Travel

Fly from Los Angeles to Jakarta for $574 roundtrip on ANA. This is part of an unadvertised sale to Southeast Asia that has been popping up for the past few weeks. You may find lower fares in Xiamen Airlines for fall travel, but it will require lengthy layovers and a grueling travel experience. Flying ANA has seamless connections with 5-star service and the opportunity to add a multi-day stopover in Tokyo for around $100 more.

I found this price on ANA departing Los Angeles LAX on Thursday, August 22, returning from Jakarta CGK on Thursday, September 5. If you want to spend a week in Indonesia and a week in Japan, simply book a multi-city trip and split the return journey by booking your flight from JKT to NRT on Thursday, August 29, and the final leg from NRT to LAX on Thursday, September 5. Total airfare is $695 to visit both Indonesia and Japan. You'll find this fare for travel on other Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, departing Los Angeles from late August through November, and again from mid-January onward.

Washington D.C. - Madagascar $633 Roundtrip for Fall/Winter Travel

Here's a route that rarely goes on sale. Fly from Washington D.C. to Antananarivo, Madagascar for $633 roundtrip on Air France. For same day connections, travel to Madagascar on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, returning to Washington D.C. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

This fare is available on a few dates in May, and from late August through April, excluding peak holiday travel in late December and early January. I found seats departing Washington D.C. on Saturday, September 7, returning from Antananarivo TNR on Monday, September 16.
