Chicago - Los Angeles $121 Roundtrip for Winter/Spring Travel
There's no need to spend the entire winter in cold weather with prices this low. Fly nonstop from Chicago to Los Angeles for $121 roundtrip on American. Travel on just a few scattered dates through early April. You'll find more availability on United for$119 roundtrip, but beware of United's strict carry-on policy for Basic Economy, which only includes a small personal item. Since Frontier also flies this route, the two ultra-low-cost carriers compete with extremely low fares, which is good news for Raleigh residents. Travel is limited to Mondays and Fridays on just a few days in February and March. I found seats departing Raleigh RDU on Monday, March 18, returning from San Juan on Friday, March 22. Allegiant fares only include a small personal item, but adding a carry-on or checked bag is cheap, between $15 - $30 each way.

Minneapolis - Honolulu $459 Roundtrip for Spring Travel
If the winter blues have got you down, book a flight to Hawaii to brighten your day. Fly from Minneapolis to Honolulu for $459 roundtrip on Sun Country. Travel on Sundays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, in April/May. Since Sun Country has converted to an ultra-low-cost carrier, this price only includes a small personal item. However, checked bag fees are the same as all other major carriers. Pay $30 each way for a checked bag and only take a small bag onboard for a hassle-free (and cheap) trip to Hawaii. I found seats departing Minneapolis MSP on Thursday, April 4, returning from Honolulu HNL on Sunday, April 14. Try finding anything remotely close to this price returning from Hawaii on a Sunday with other carriers. Spoiler alert: you won't.

El Paso - Milan $478 Roundtrip for Winter Travel
If you're looking for a last-minute Valentine's Day trip with that special someone, surprise them with a cheap flight from this nationwide sale to Italy for travel in February and March. Even small cities are included in this one, such as flights from El Paso to Milan for $478 roundtrip on American or Delta. Travel to Italy on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and return from Italy on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays. It's Basic Economy so you'll have to either test your luck or pay extra to choose side-by-side seats, and a checked bag costs $60 each way, if necessary. Main Cabin Economy fares are much more expensive (over $1000 more) for these dates.
