Circumstances are changing by the hour. Governments around the world are closing borders, imposing quarantines, and, at a minimum, urging residents to stay indoors. Airlines are cutting service and, in some cases, suspending operations entirely.
What happens next is anyone’s guess, but you can be sure that, at some point down the road, travel restrictions will be lifted, flight schedules will be restored, and people will once again take to the skies.
In the meantime, here’s how we plan to cover flights, fares, and cancellations during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
1. Airfarewatchdog will continue to provide you with the latest flight deals and airfare alerts with a focus on what’s ahead for travel in the summer months and onward into 2020.
While there’s no certainty that the current crisis will be resolved in time for summer, we remain hopeful. What’s more, airlines are doing their part to entice travelers by relaxing ticket change policies and waiving fees, even for travel later in the year.
2. We’ll also include any related COVID-19 ticket change policies in the fares we feature, as well as keep you informed of current refund and fee waiver information in our fare details.
You can find this information all in one place on our blog, too, where we’re posting the latest updates on COVID-19 and its impact on travel.
3. Please know that you can always reach out to us via Twitter at @Airfarewatchdog or Facebook with your COVID-19 travel questions and concerns.
The last few days have been hectic for everyone, particularly for travelers caught up in the messy rollout of new travel restrictions, screenings, and cancelations around the world. Many of you have reached out to share your personal experiences, and we thank you for that. We’re all figuring this out together, and your stories from the front lines help us to keep other travelers informed.
