Overshadowed by the news yesterday of JetBlue bumping up prices on baggage checked in person at the airport to $35 one-way (detailed here), the carrier also announced a revamped vision for its route map in 2020, including service to its 25th country and a West Coast shake-up.
JetBlue’s Newest Latin American Destination
Starting June 1st, JetBlue will touchdown in Guatemala City's La Aurora International Airport (GUA) with a new nonstop daily service departing from New York (JFK) marking the carrier’s 25th country and strengthening its presence in Central America. Increased Options to Bozeman and Nashville
June will also usher in new nonstop routes to Bozeman's Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) from its two largest East Coast airports of Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK). Allowing flyers varied seasonal schedules to Montana's fast-growing airport and gateway to Yellowstone National Park. Flight information and introductory prices below:

Route Cuts and Rollbacks
While the announcement of these new routes are highlighted, the airline is also making “adjustments to Caribbean and West Coast flying," which is a polite way of saying that frequencies are being reduced or outright cut from several airports. The biggest loser out of this service shuffle is Oakland (OAK), as all service gets cut effective April 29, 2020, and no longer appears as a JetBlue city on route maps.
Operations at its Long Beach (LGB) “hub” took a significant hit too as frequencies on short-haul routes to San Jose (SJC), Oakland (OAK), and Sacramento (SMF) are getting axed in late April alongside a drop in daily service to Las Vegas (LAS).
Also, in late April, nonstop flights to Havana (HAV) will no longer be available departing Boston (BOS) and Orlando (MCO), while service from New York (JFK) will shift to a Saturday only schedule. Mostly a measure to repurpose aircraft to better-suited areas following travel policy changes imposed by the current administration and reduced demand.
