Baggage
Icelandair's Economy Light fares only include a standard-sized carry-on bag plus one personal item. Checked bag fees are $76 each-way when purchased online. If you need to check bags, it's cheaper to buy an Economy Standard fare (+$120 USD), which includes one free checked bag.
Seat Assignments
You may choose your own assignments from standard economy class seats that are still available at no extra charge.
Free Stopover in Iceland
You can book a free stopover in Iceland for up to 3 days on the Economy Light fare. Extra taxes and separate bag fees may apply. If you want to stay longer in Iceland, the Economy Standard fare allows stopovers up to 7 days.

Alternate Fares
The upgrade to standard Economy costs an extra $120. This includes one free checked bag and allows stopovers up to 7 days.
Occasionally, you can find a cheaper rate on a third party site, when two separate tickets are booked together or if a forced overnight in Iceland is required.
Other airlines such as SAS, Norwegian, and TAP Air Portugal may offer better prices in some markets, with possible nonstop options on other major carriers. Choose the airline according to your needs. Icelandair may have better routing and allows for free stopovers in Iceland if that is something that interests you.
Example Booking
As an example, I found flights departing Minneapolis MSP on Thursday, April 16, returning from Reykjavik KEF on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, for $329 roundtrip.
