Boston – St. Thomas $275 Roundtrip on American
No passport needed! Fly from Boston to St. Thomas, USVI for $275 roundtrip this winter and forget the frigid New England temps. Flights to the tropical U.S. territory are available on scattered dates starting in early January through mid-February. The window is short, but you’ll be happy once you’re sitting on the beach in Magens Bay instead of stuck inside because of snow. For example dates, I found an itinerary leaving BOS on Monday, January 20, with a return from STT on Monday, January 27, 2020. Monday through Thursday travel.

New York – Dubai $661 Roundtrip on Royal Jordanian
Here’s a deal that’s hard to beat from Royal Jordanian’s BuyBye Sale. There are lots of great airfares to destinations in the Middle East and beyond that rarely go on sale, like this fare from New York-JFK to Dubai for $661 roundtrip. Travel is valid from October 17 through March 25, 2020, with departures available on most weekdays. As an example, I found seats departing JFK on Tuesday, November 6, and returning from DXB on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Peak holiday travel dates blacked out.

Denver – Nashville $98 Roundtrip on Southwest
Spend your jukebox money for some real tunes in happening Nashville. Home to some of the best live music venues in the country; it’s a trip definitely worth hopping on a plane for. Luckily, Southwest is here to help to the tune of $98 roundtrip for an itinerary between Mile High and Music City USA. Trips at this price are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and select Saturdays through early December. Searching Southwest, I found seats open departing DEN on Tuesday, November 12, and returning from BNA on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Inventory is running low, so put on your blue suede shoes and book ASAP.

Chicago – Tampa $97 Roundtrip on American
Hop on an American Airlines flight from Chicago-ORD to Tampa this January or February for peak snowbird season. Roundtrip tickets on this route are only $97, and one-ways can be purchased for half the price at $49 with departures valid on select dates between January 7 and February 27, 2020. As an example, I found seats departing ORD on Wednesday, January 8, and returning from TPA on Tuesday, January 14, 2019.

Washington DC – Brussels $445 Roundtrip on Icelandair
With WOW air out of the picture (for now), Icelandair has been busy busting out more sales lately. Here’s a fare deal from the carrier’s latest reduced deals to Brussels, fly from Washington DC-Dulles to Brussels, Belgium for $445 roundtrip this fall or winter. Flights are available daily from October 1 through March 30, 2020, with blackout dates between December 13 and January 5, 2020. Best of all turn this trip into a 2-for-1 with Icelandair’s free stopover program, allowing passengers to visit Reykjavik (KEF) on the way to their final destination. As an example, I found tickets at this price departing IAD on Wednesday, October 23, with a return flight from BRU on Thursday, October 31, 2019.

Miami – Fortaleza $414 Roundtrip on GOL
Samba on down from Miami to Fortaleza, Brazil for $414 roundtrip, on nonstop flights onboard GOL beginning this February. Daily departures open up just in time for Carnival and are available through the end of the booking calendar in August 2020. With wide-open availability, it's pretty easy to find dates for this fabulous fare to work with your travel schedule. As an example, I found an itinerary available departing MIA on Tuesday, February 18, and returning from FOR on Sunday, March 1, 2020, overlapping with the festivities. If you want to hop down to Rio for the biggest Brazilian bash, you can find internal flights at competitive rates, but get to booking because those can go quickly.

Detroit – Houston $97 Roundtrip on United
Fly nonstop from Detroit to Houston-Intercontinental for $97 roundtrip on United this fall. Flights at this price are available departing on select days through November 5, 2019. Searching United's website, I found seats available departing DTW on Wednesday, October 9, with a return leg from IAH on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Keep in mind that United's Basic Economy fares only include one personal item onboard like a laptop bag, small backpack, or purse.

Los Angeles – Cook Islands $690 Roundtrip on Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand is running a sale on many of its routes to/from the United States and destinations in the South Pacific. For those of you looking for an exotic escape but don't want to fly all the way to Australia or NZ, then the Cook Islands might be the sweet spot for you. Fly from Los Angeles to Rarotonga, Cook Islands for $690 roundtrip on Air New Zealand starting through June. Not every week is available, but if you search for nonstop flights leaving LA on Saturdays and returning on Fridays, you should be able to find the promotional price. As an example, I was able to find seats departing LAX on Saturday, February 1 and returning from RAR on Friday, February 7, 2020.

San Jose – Reno $97 Roundtrip on Alaska
Have you been to the Biggest Little City in the World? If not, here’s your chance with this low fare from Alaska Airlines. Nonstop flights from San Jose, CA to Reno, Nevada are available for $97 roundtrip for travel through early March. Seats at this price are open Monday through Thursday and Saturday starting next week through March 4, 2020. As an example, I found tickets departing SJC on Thursday, November 14, and returning from RNO on Monday, November 18, 2019. Peak holiday dates blacked out.

Soak up some sun south of the border and visit San Jose del Cabo, Mexico for $250 roundtrip with another great fare from American Airlines. This deal has a pretty wide-open travel window with departures available starting as soon as tomorrow up until March 2020. Daily departures are available on most weeks with only the peak holiday period blacked out. On AA.com, I found tickets departing RDU on Sunday, October 6, and returning from SJD on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. United Airlines might match on select dates, but beware of their stringent baggage policy.
