Southwest Airlines is back again this week with another nationwide 3-day sale. Tickets starting at $49 one-way or $98 roundtrip and the low-cost carrier recently extended its booking calendar into March 2020, so there's a lot of wide-open seat availability for winter escapes.

Travel Availability
Sale fares are valid for travel on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturdays starting in mid-September through March 4, 2020.
Travel is blacked out November 22, November 24, November 26-27, November 30-December 2, December 19-23, December 26, 2019 - January 1, 2020; January 4-5, 2020.
Departures to Las Vegas and select Florida airports are available Sunday through Wednesday and travel from Nevada and Florida is valid Tuesday through Friday. Travel to/from Newark is valid through November 3, 2019.

Baggage
Sale fares include a carry-on bag, a personal item, and two free checked bags up to 50lbs/23kg each.
Seat Assignments
Southwest has an open seating policy, which means there are no assigned seats, and you'll get to choose your place during boarding. The order of boarding is determined by the time of check-in, so check-in exactly 24 hours before departure or pay for priority boarding for a better choice of seat.

Searching Southwest's website, I found seats departing Nashville BNA on Wednesday, September 25, with a return flight from Atlanta ATL on Saturday, September 28, 2019, for $98 roundtrip.
