How to Book / Travel Availability
To book any route, go to the sale page on Spirit's website and enter promo code 90PCT when searching from that specific page. Fares will then be discounted up to 90% off of the base fare within the following dates:
- Travel Period: August 20 - November 19, 2019.
- Travel Days of the Week: Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Blackout Dates: August 28, September 3, October 9 & 15.
The discount will only apply to the base fare and not to taxes nor Spirit's booking fees so don't expect to see that large of a price drop on certain routes. Note: Spirit's passenger usage fee was just raised another $2 each way this week. It's now up to $23.99 each way.
Spirit has a long list of excluded markets. However, if you start your search directly from the sale page, all routes are being discounted, even if they are listed as excluded.
Spirit also states the promo code only works for a roundtrip purchase, but we found it to work for one-way flights as well. If you get an error message when searching from the homepage, try the search again from the sale page and it may work. This bug could be corrected at any time.

Baggage
Spirit's Bare Fares only include one small personal item (small backpack, large purse, briefcase, etc.) that will fit underneath your seat. Checked baggage (up to 40 lbs.) starts at $30-$35 each way when purchased during the initial booking. Larger carry-on bag fees start at $35-$40 each way.

Seat Assignments
Seats will be assigned at random upon check-in for these prices. You may pay a fee to choose a specific seat.
Alternate Fares
Spirit sells a Thrills Combo package, which includes one 50 lb. checked bag (10 lbs. extra), one standard carry-on bag, seat selection, priority boarding, no change fees, and double miles. It would cost you more to purchase all of these items separately, but odds are if you’re flying Spirit you don’t need all those extras.
Also, make sure to compare with other airlines that might include more luggage. Even with the so-called "90% off", other airlines may still offer a better deal on certain routes.

As an example, after entering promo code 90PCT on Spirit's sale page, I found flights departing Atlanta ATL on Wednesday, October 23, returning from Medellin MDE on Wednesday, October 30, for $197 roundtrip.
