To celebrate "International Friendship Day", Spirit Airlines is having one of its best promo code sales as of late. Take up to 75% off the base fare for late summer/fall travel. We're seeing lower fares than usual on several routes, starting from just $49 roundtrip.
The discount will work on all routes in Spirit's expanding network throughout the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America. But you may need to use a simple trick to book certain routes at the discounted rate.
How to Book / Travel Availability
To book any route, go to the sale page on Spirit's website and enter promo code 75PCT when searching from that specific page. Fares will then be discounted 75% off of the base fare for roundtrip travel within the following dates:
- Travel Period: August 20 - November 20, 2019.
- Travel Days of the Week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
- Blackout Dates: August 24, August 31 - September 3, and October 9 - 15.
The discount will only apply to the base fare and not to taxes nor Spirit's booking fees so don't expect to see that large of a price drop on certain routes.
Spirit has a long list of excluded markets. However, if you start your search directly from the sale page, all routes are being discounted, even if they are listed as excluded.
If you get an error message when searching from the homepage, try the search again from the sale page and it may work. This bug could be corrected at any time.

Baggage
Spirit's Bare Fares only include one small personal item (small backpack, large purse, briefcase, etc.) that will fit underneath your seat. Checked baggage (up to 40 lbs.) starts at $30-$35 each way when purchased during the initial booking. Larger carry-on bag fees start at $35-$40 each way.

Seat Assignments
Seats will be assigned at random upon check-in for these prices. You may pay a fee to choose a specific seat.
Alternate Fares
Spirit sells a Thrills Combo package, which includes one 50 lb. checked bag (10 lbs. extra), one standard carry-on bag, seat selection, priority boarding, no change fees, and double miles. It would cost you more to purchase all of these items separately, but odds are if you’re flying Spirit you don’t need all those extras.
Also, make sure to compare with other airlines that might include more luggage. Even with the so-called "75% off", other airlines may still offer a better deal on certain routes.
Example Booking
As an example, after entering promo code 75PCT on Spirit's sale page, I found flights departing Atlanta ATL on Tuesday, August 27, returning from Lima LIM on Wednesday, September 4, for $241 roundtrip.
