Chicago – Barcelona $302 Roundtrip on Air Canada

In my opinion, fall is the best time to visit Spain, and with a fare deal this low I think you'll agree. Avoid the crowds and save big by waiting until summer season is over and fly from Chicago-O’Hare to Barcelona for $302 roundtrip on Air Canada. Departures are available on Monday and Tuesdays starting from October 22 through late December; returns are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Fares book into the Basic Economy fare bucket, so pack lightly or pay for a checked bag, because the "Standard" fare is a bit steep at $489 roundtrip. As an example, I found tickets at this price departing ORD on Monday, November 11, with a return leg from BCN on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Book directly on Air Canada’s website to get this price as other booking sites are charging $27 more.

Newark – Nairobi $567 Roundtrip on StarAlliance Partners

Bucket list bargain! Skip seeing the Lion King in the theaters and witness the stars in real life with this safari deal from StarAlliance airlines Swiss, Lufthansa, and United. Fly from Newark to Nairobi for only $567 roundtrip this fall, winter, or spring. Flights are available on Sunday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in November and then again in late January through the end of the booking calendar in May 2020. Peak holiday dates are blacked out. As an example, I was able to find tickets at this price departing EWR on Tuesday, November 12, and returning from NBO on Sunday, November 24, 2019. Some itineraries may require a long layover or an overnight depending on your dates and which carrier you choose.

New York – Savannah $117 Roundtrip on Delta

Here’s a fare from NYC to a totally different savannah. Fly nonstop from New York-LaGuardia to Savannah, Georgia for $117 roundtrip on Delta Air Lines. Travel at this price is available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from August 20 through October 9, 2019. Searching Delta, I found seats available departing LGA on Wednesday, September 18, and returning from SAV on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Boston – Ft. Lauderdale $117 Roundtrip on JetBlue or Delta

It might be a little too early in the season for the snowbirds, but this is still a fabulous fare deal to Florida. Fly from Boston to Ft Lauderdale on either JetBlue or Delta in late summer and fall for just $117 roundtrip. Tuesday and Wednesday departures are available at this price starting on August 27 through October 9, 2019. Inventory is pretty wide open, and I was able to find seats on either airline departing BOS on Tuesday, September 17, with a return flight from FLL on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. For those in Ft. Lauderdale wanting to fly up north, this fare is also available in reverse for the same price.

Austin – New Orleans $144 Roundtrip on Southwest

Travel between two cities that know how to have a good time and keep the party going at all hours. Hop on a Southwest jet and fly nonstop from Austin to New Orleans for $144 roundtrip through December. Travel days will vary by week, but I saw seats open on any day of the week starting in late July through the middle of December. Searching Southwest’s site, I found a trip in October at this price departing AUS on Saturday, September 14 and returning from MSY on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. As always two bags fly free on Southwest so pack along all the outfits you might need for a night out on Bourbon Street.

San Francisco – Tahiti $671 Roundtrip on Delta and Air France

How’s this for an exotic escape? Fly from San Francisco to Papeete, Tahiti for $671 roundtrip on Delta and Air France. Flights at this price can be found on select dates starting in October through April 2020. Departures on Saturday are easiest to find, although you’ll find extra inventory on Tuesdays and Thursdays on a limited basis. Using Google Flights, I was able to piece together an itinerary departing SFO on Tuesday, October 1, and returning from PPT on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Peak holiday dates blacked out.

Orlando – Los Angeles $187 Roundtrip on Delta, American, or United

Travel from Disney World to Disneyland with this great deal from Delta, American, or United Airlines. Fly nonstop from Orlando to Los Angeles for $187 roundtrip from late August through early February. Flights are available daily except Sunday, but you will have the most luck with mid-week departures. Availability is a bit scattered in November and some weeks in October but if you play around you should be able to find something that works for you. Alternatively, try splitting the ticket into two separate one-way itineraries amongst the airlines for broader availability. On United, I found tickets at this price departing MCO on Wednesday, October 23, with a return leg from LAX on Monday, October 28, 2019.

Detroit – Amman $599 Roundtrip on Royal Jordanian

Here’s another deal that’s hard to beat from the Royal Jordanian Global Summer Sale we posted last week. In case you missed it there are lots of great airfares to destinations in the Middle East and beyond that rarely go on sale, like this fare from Detroit to Amman, Jordan for $599 roundtrip. Travel is valid from September 10 through March 20, 2020, with departures available on most weekdays. As an example, I found seats departing DTW on Monday, November 11, and returning from AMM on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Peak holiday travel dates blacked out.

Los Angeles - Houston $131 Roundtrip on American or United

Fly nonstop from Los Angeles to Houston-IAH for $131 roundtrip in late summer or fall. Tickets at this price open up in late August and are available through March 2020. Travel days will vary by month; so you'll need to poke around see what works best for your calendar. As an example, searching on AA.com, I found seats at this price departing LAX on Thursday, September 23, and returning from IAH on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. One-way tickets are available for only 66 dollars. Keep in mind that United only allows for a small personal item that fits under the seat in front of you at this price point.

Philadelphia – Reykjavik $349 Roundtrip on Icelandair

WOW air might’ve gone the way of the dodo, but that doesn’t mean great deals to Iceland are gone too. Fly nonstop from Philadelphia to Reykjavik for $349 roundtrip on flag-carrier Icelandair this September. Depart on Tuesdays and return on Tuesday or Thursdays at this price starting on August 27 through September 24, 2019. As an example, I was able to find tickets at this price leaving PHL on Tuesday, September 3, and returning from KEF on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. This fare is part of Icelandair’s 4^th of July sale which ends tomorrow, so get to booking soon as this deal will be over just like the holiday.
