All is back to normal in the airfare world as Southwest Airlines is back to posting sales! For the last 3-4 weeks, Southwest has forgone posting a weekly sale which is the first time I've seen them do that in years. Maybe they'd skip a week here and there – but never a month.
But it looks like the hiatus was worth it because this latest sale is a whopper! With close to 2,500 routes marked down this 3-day sale is one of the most widespread Southwest has ever posted. One-way fares start as low as $29 and roundtrips for just $58, making it one of their cheapest sales!
And unlike previous sales where only nonstop flights got price drops, this time around connecting routes are seeing some phenomenal fares too. I'd recommend taking a look to see what's available from your hometown airport because who knows if Southwest will take another few weeks off after an epic sale like this one.

Sale fares include a carry-on bag, a personal item, and two free checked bags up to 50lbs/23kg each.
Seat Assignments
Southwest has an open seating policy, which means there are no assigned seats and you'll get to choose your seat during boarding. The order of boarding is determined by the time of check-in, so check-in exactly 24 hours before departure or pay for priority boarding for a better choice of seat.

Searching Southwest's website, I found seats departing San Diego SAN on Wednesday, September 25, with a return flight from San Jose SJC on Saturday, September 28, 2019, for $78 roundtrip.
