While Rio's Carnival may garner most of the attention, Sao Paulo puts on quite a spectacle too and shouldn't be overlooked! To experience this bucket list festival, fly nonstop from Los Angeles to Sao Paulo for an incredible $507 roundtrip on American Airlines.

This year Carnival falls between March 1 and March 9, so I had a look on American's website and was able to find flights departing LAX on Thursday, February 28 and returning from GRU on Monday, March 11, 2019. Perfect timing for a nice vacation during the festivities in vibrant Brazil.

Departures are on select dates so you'll need to be flexible to find the nonstop options, but other airlines are offering similar prices and in some cases even a bit cheaper. However, those fares will require a stopover along the way, and many of them are quite long. It's nice to see flight prices to Brazil begin to creep down in cost, as it's a destination that I predicted would see lower airfares in 2019.
