Last week, JetBlue introduced its all new interior design of its A320 aircraft on a flight from Boston BOS to Bermuda BDA. In a press release, Marty St. George, JetBlue's executive vice president commercial and planning, stated “JetBlue’s A320 restyling is about making the best even better."
Some of the improvements included are: expanded seat width (to more than 18 inches), enhanced cushion comfort, adjustable headrests, at least 2 easily accessible power connections at every seat, 10.1 inch, high definition screens at every seat, expanded collection of on demand movies, TV shows, and video content, picture-in-picture function, an enhanced 3-D Flight Map, and an expansion of their in-flight WiFi, Fly-Fi. Don't be fooled by the new features. These improvements led to a decrease in seat pitch from 34 inches to 32 inches. So although there will be more room for your rump, your knees may suffer, especially if you are a taller traveler.
A dozen aircrafts are expected to be updated by the end of 2018, with the entire A320 fleet expected to be restyled over 3 years.
Wider seats and TV screens aren't the only new feature JetBlue launched this month. This week, JetBlue flew dozens of pizzas to LA from NYC. LA residents could order a pizza from Patsy's in NYC, and track it as it flew across the country.
