Sun Country has begun expanding its network beyond Minneapolis/St. Paul. They have announced five new nonstop routes outside of their main hub along with two seasonal routes to/from Minneapolis/St. Paul that will continue this summer.
Last year, when Sun Country announced they would be changing their business model and become more like an ultra-low-cost-carrier (ULCC), they also mentioned expanding their flights beyond their hub in Minneapolis. While they have had flights from Dallas to Cancun, most of their other scheduled service has strictly been from/to Minneapolis.
In December, Sun Country announced the first expansion outside their hub with new nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Honolulu beginning May 19, 2018. Now, Sun Country has added five more new routes to their map. Seasonal nonstop service will begin in June and run through August. I have listed the current fares below along with start dates and operational schedule.
New seasonal service starts June 7. Sun/Mon/Thu/Fri travel.
Dallas to Las Vegas $127 round-trip

Seattle to Anchorage $215 round-trip

Portland to Orlando $297 round-trip

Austin to Cancun $299 round-trip

San Diego to Los Cabos $226 round-trip

Minneapolis to Austin $177 round-trip

Minneapolis to Santa Rosa $197 round-trip
All domestic fares work in the reverse direction as well. These are some excellent intro fares for peak summer travel. There is no expiration date on the intro fares so they may jump in price at any time. Sun Country's Grab & Go fares only include one small personal item (small backpack, purse, etc.) that will fit underneath your seat. Checked bag fees start at $20-$25 each way.
