You might not be able to afford those nice seats that turn into a full bed or the fancy seats with the free iPads. However, there are a few items you can bring on your trip to upgrade your in-flight experience.
These Items Will Improve Your Flight
Below are my favorite picks for improving my flight experience. Many are pretty affordable and can be easily packed away in your carry-on bag. What items or tips do you have on improving your experience while flying? Let us know in the comments.
Trtl Pillow
Unlike your fellow passengers in first or business class, trying to fall asleep isn’t going to be easy. A great way to beat that is with a premium travel pillow. The Trtl Pillow looks a bit strange but is scientifically proven to offer neck support. It’s also very comfortable.
Amazon User Review: “Wow. It's hard to overstate how far superior this thing is to foam neck rings.”

ALASKA BEAR Natural Silk Sleep Mask
Privacy isn’t a perk of economy class. If you’re trying to get a quick nap in before you land or maybe you’re on a long haul—you’re going to want a sleep mask to block out the light. My top pick is the ALASKA BEAR sleep mask. This mask is super soft and keeps all the light out. One thing I really like about the mask is you can wash it and it doesn’t really affect the ability of the mask to keep the light out. If you’re sensitive to sound make sure to grab some ear plugs too.
Amazon User Review: “I’ve bought several sleep masks on Amazon, but this is by far the most effective one at blocking light. It’s also incredibly comfortable.”

Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones
Bring a premium of set of headphones aboard your flight. Opting for a pair that has a noise cancelling feature is a great way for you to enjoy your entertainment without having to hear your neighbor. There are many different options out their but a pair I like are these from Sony. You can also still use the noise cancelling feature even if you decide to go wired instead of wireless.
Amazon User Review: “Fantastic headphones. The sound is clear and balanced. Using the app allows you to tweak the sound profile to your precise preference.”

Carry on Cocktail Kits
You can order nips and small portions of wine in economy class, but you’re probably not going to get a fancy cocktail. Bring your own! The Carry on Cocktail Kit comes with everything you need in TSA safe sizes to help you create many different cocktails such as classics like the old fashioned or margarita. All you need to do is purchase the nips from your flight attendant. Just make sure to drink in moderation so you don’t get dehydrated or groggy.
Amazon User Review: “This really works! My husband made himself an old-fashioned on his last business trip with this.”

World's Best Cozy-Soft Microfleece Travel Blanket
Relax and stay warm with a comfy travel blanket. I always suggest a microfleece blanket due its softness and ease of washing. There are many options available but I really like the World’s Best blanket. It’s affordable and based on the over 400 reviews pretty comfortable.
Amazon User Review: “Pretty good. They wash and dry nicely and work great as throws for the dog beds. They have a very soft feel and seem durable.”

Ohderii Foot Rest
Unless you’re in a select class on your flight you probably can’t put your feet up. However, with the Ohderii Foot Rest you can. This gadget allows you to hang a strap where you can rest your feet.
Amazon User Review: “This foot rest is really awesome!!! It's really easy to use and stores easy with the case it comes in…”

Flight Spray Nasal Hydration Spray for Airline Travelers
If you’re tired of having a dry nose when you’re flying, check out Flight Spray. This spray is one of the first designed to keep your nasal passages hydrated. It’s especially great during the winter.
